This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our website https://www.pingnearby.com and related services. By continuing to use this website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information — your email address when you register or sign in; basic profile information received from Google if you choose "Sign in with Google" (see Section 6).

Contact information — a phone number (including a mobile number), if you provide one — for example when you submit or claim a business listing, verify ownership of a listing, request a service, or opt in to receive text messages from us.

Content you submit — business details and images you provide when submitting or claiming a listing; service-request details and an optional email address when you register a demand for a service we do not yet cover.

Information generated while you use the site — search keywords and the selected area (used to understand which services are missing in which areas so we can improve coverage); IP address, access time, browser and device-related technical information — used mainly for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, troubleshooting, and keeping the platform running normally.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to: provide search and listing services; operate our review and moderation processes for submitted content; notify you (for example by email) when a service you registered interest in becomes available; verify business ownership when a listing is claimed; analyze search gaps to improve coverage; and keep the platform safe and stable.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not give your contact details to businesses for marketing purposes, and this website currently serves no third-party advertising or ad tracking. You decide which business to contact — we display each business's public contact information rather than passing your contact information to businesses.

3. SMS / Text Messaging

If you provide your mobile phone number, HUIWANLI LLC (PingNearby) may send you SMS text messages for the following purposes:

Verification codes — one-time passcodes used to verify that you control a phone number, for example when claiming a business listing or securing your account.

Service messages — informational and transactional messages relating to your listings, submissions, service requests, and account notifications, where you have opted in to receive them. We do not send unrelated bulk marketing messages.

Consent to receive SMS messages is optional and is never a condition of using our services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or reply HELP for assistance; you can also contact us at [email protected].

No sharing of mobile data: mobile information (your phone number) and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with, sold to, or rented to any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

4. Cookies, Local Storage & Tracking

This website does not use third-party advertising cookies and does not perform cross-site behavioral advertising tracking. We, and the service providers that supply security and authentication functionality for this website, may use necessary cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, prevent abuse, and protect the site.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage (such as page views, traffic sources, and on-site searches). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

For convenience, preferences such as your last selected area and unsubmitted form drafts are kept in your browser's local storage; they are sent to our servers only as part of a search or form submission you initiate. Clearing your browser data removes this locally stored content.

The platform primarily lists business information that businesses have made public in the course of promoting their own services, including business name, category, service area, public business phone number, website, and other public business contact details. Information may come from submissions by businesses or users, promotional content that businesses have published themselves, public web pages, and pages that can be found through public search engines (such as Google). Published content is subject to our review and moderation processes.

Business owners may at any time claim their page, correct their information, or request removal — through the feedback option on the business page, or by emailing [email protected]. We will normally acknowledge a request within 48 hours and complete review and processing within a reasonable period.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following categories of third-party services. Each processes data only to the extent necessary to provide its functionality to us, and each is governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Sign-In — if you sign in with Google, we receive only the information needed to authenticate your account: your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password and do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or other Google services.

Cloudflare — network security, content delivery, and human verification (Turnstile).

Cloudflare R2 — storage of business images.

Email service provider — delivery of sign-in verification codes and service-match notification emails.

Telephony / SMS provider — delivery of the verification codes and service text messages described in Section 3.

Operations notifications — events such as new submissions and feedback are relayed to platform operators so they can be handled promptly; such notifications may include the relevant submitted content.

7. Data Retention & Security

Account and submission records are retained for as long as your account exists; security and access logs are retained for a reasonable period as needed for operations.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, and other appropriate safeguards. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise that any system is free of risk.

8. Your Choices & Rights

You may contact us at any time to: request access to the information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; or request deletion of your account or your service-request records (except security logs we are required to keep). We will normally acknowledge a request within 48 hours and complete processing within a reasonable period.

Business users can additionally manage their own business page through the claim → correct → removal process described in Section 5.

9. Children, Policy Updates & Contact

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
